This issue's claim to fame besides having the wonderful Jack Kirby/Al Williamson art (which is one of the many great artist team ups over time) is the one story, "The Face on Mars" which shows an expedition examining a face on Mars years before the NASA's spacecraft had taken pictures of the mysterious "Face on Mars" in 1976, which NASA later debunked as a natural formation. Erred in my rating - I loved this comic. The artwork is super, and the Face On Mars was rather prescient. A couple of the tales ended too soon, hence my not rating it higher than a '9'- but I really did enjoy Race For The Moon 02. Also, a very good scan! |
